ALERT: Message Toolkit Processor Option

Message Toolkit Processor option

The message processor is a generic mediator module that processes messages transmitted by an external system: serial communication line, TCP/IP link, files, databases, emails, or even from GSM modems. It analyzes received messages using a script, extracts event information, and triggers the necessary alarms.

Scripts can also be executed based on internal Alert events to format data into a specific protocol for interaction with third-party systems. Furthermore, starting with Alert version 4.0, scripts also allow you to define specific voice server behavior to meet particular needs for handling incoming or outgoing calls. For this, the IVR option is required (see $K). The message processor module runtime is included by default in Alert and comes with various standard prototypes. To develop and validate a new prototype, you must purchase the Message Processor Toolkit option, which provides access to the script editor and debugger.
