If you use ALERTMobile in Web mode (Android or Apple) the use of our Gateway is required. This application is by design accessible from outside your infrastructure, it must therefore be configured in agreement with the IT department to meet your company's security policy.
Like it's not mandatory to install it on the same PC (server, VM...) as the ALERT software, the first recommendation is to install it on a dedicated PC in a DMZ.
We also strongly recommend using SSL ports (HTTPS)
Note that the pooling method is used by default between ALERT and ALERTMobile Gateway, which means that the ports can only be opened in one way.
Finally, the phone number must be defined in ALERT so that the mobile can access it, if not, even if the ALERTMobile application is installed on the phone and the gateway is configured in the application the connection will not be allowed.
