1. ALERT Tunneler configuration as data server:
In order to establish communication with the remote "ALERT Tunneler" module, you must declare a new data server. Do a right-click on “Tags”, then click on “Add a data server…”:
In the "Add a data server" window, set the server type to “Generic OPC”, then click on “Source…” button:
The "OPC source selection" window is displayed:
Click on "Network station" radio button:
In the field next to "Network station", enter the IP address or the computer name of "ALERT Tunneler" module host.
Check the "Tunneler" checkbox and modify the "TCP / IP port" if you are not using not the default one:
Select the type of OPC server to use using the “OPC DA” or “OPC AE” radio button
Click on the “...” button located on the right of the “OPC server” field in order to display the list of remote OPC servers:
In the displayed window, select the OPC server to connect
Click on the "OK" button:
Click on "OK" button:
The new data server appears in the expantion tree under the "Tags" section:
2. Communication check beetwin ALERT and ALERT Tunneler :
On "ALERT Tunneler" host (when it run as an application), it is possible to know the status of the connection made by ALERT :
When the client connection (ALERT) is successful, the terminal should display :
- Connection client accepted: Address=X.X.X.X, Port=XXXX
The OPC mediator is then activated and its execution status is displayed

3. Add Tag from ALERT Tunneler :
Select the data server corresponding to "ALERT Tunneler":
Right click on data server name, then click on "Add a Tag":
Click on the "..." button on the right of the "Data path:" field:
Navigate in the expantion tree to display the Tags associated to the selected group in the right side of the window:
Select the item to be monitored, then click on "OK" button:
Click on "OK" button:
Define alarms parameters :
Click on " OK " button to create the Tag:
4. Verification of Tag addition:
When a Tag is add in ALERT, the " ALERT Tunneler " module will display the connection attempt to the OPC server in its Log (Terminal window)
