Open the Drivers (ALERT -> Configuration -> Communication -> select tab Drivers).
Double click the SMPP Driver to open its configuration.
Alert tab: here you have the possibility to change the driver name, the acknowledgment behavior of service messages and alarm calls.
Show sent messages in event log generates a log entry in the Alert event log when an error occurs or a message was sent.
Max. simultaneous calls limits the number of simultaneous calls (provider dependent).
One message per call will only send one message per connection.
Max. call duration, the duration in seconds after the transmission will be aborted.
The ask for delivery receipt makes sure that the call was transmitted to the recipient.
Automatic call acknowledgement, acknowledge messages after receiving the delivery receipt (if the box is checked, the server answer otherwise). If the delivery receipt wasn't successful, the message will be marked as not acknowledged. If the delivery receipt box isn’t checked, the call will be acknowledged after receiving the answer of the server, which means it will not have been received by the operator, but only transferred to the server.
Manual mode will wait for an answer from the operator to acknowledge the alarm or message, see Incoming messages tab call acknowledgement
Specify a message header for alarm and service messages, this will message will be set at the beginning of the SMS.
Connection tab: please enter here the SMPP server address and the according TCP/IP port.

Call acknowledgement: the keyword for the answer SMS to acknowledge the SMS reception.
Non acknowledgement: the keyword for the answer SMS to not acknowledge the SMS
reception.
In short: ALERT sends the SMS to an user, this user can confirm or not the SMS reception. According to the Screenshot above he needs to send OK back to the ALERT server to confirm the reception of the message. ALERT will evaluate the SMS and set the call as acknowledged.
Each incoming message that doesn’t contain a call acknowledgement or non-acknowledgement is sent to a Message processor script if configured. E.g. with this functionality a acknowledgement of alarms is possible or a centralization of alarms transmitted by SMS to ALERT as well - for more information please ask the Micromedia International Support Team.
Log incoming messages in the event log will trace all the incoming SMS messages.
