ESPA-X is short for: Enhanced Signaling Protocol for Alarm Processes – XML-based
ESPA-X creates a flexible communication platform, bringing together host systems, alarm management- and logistics systems and in particular, call systems with alarm servers.
The ESPA-X Driver of ALERT only acts as a client yet, which allows the tranmission of messages to an ESPA-X Server. The way vice versa - ALERT acts as an ESPA-X Server - isn’t implemented yet.
Requirements of the ESPA-X alarm/communication server
The ESPA-X server must provide user access (user name and password),
furthermore, the required IP address and the TCP/IP port (firewall!).
Please note: Not every ESPA-X server connection can be guaranteed. If there is another
server than HiPath, DAKS, Oscar or NovaAlert used, please verify with Micromedia Support in advance if
the according server is compatible with the ALERT Espa-X driver.
Requirements of ALERT
The ESPA-X license option must be activated and the ESPA-X driver needs to be selected within the ALERT
installation routine. If a DAKS server is used, the following parameter of the parameterlist.xml must be set
to true – DaksServer = true.
Redundancy
The redundancy of the driver in ALERT 4.0 isn't implemented yet.
