Introduction
This application is required in case of a connection between ALERT and the AlertMobile app installed on a smartphone (Android or Apple). To ensure communication, the smartphone must have an Internet connection.
AlertMobile Gateway is a Windows system service that provides a gateway between the ALERT server and the Android / Apple push notification server over the Internet.
ALERT sends alarms to smartphones via AlertMobile Gateway using the corresponding push notification service (Google cloud messaging or pushy.me for Android and Apple push notification service for Apple).
AlertMobile Gateway is an application that can be accessed from outside your infrastructure, so it must be configured alongside your IT department. As you see on the the illustration above, it can be installed on a different computer to the PC hosting the Alert service in a DMZ. In this case, the configuration settings will be defined to reflect your security strategy. |
