In Alert, right click on “Tags” on the Supervision tree and select “Import” and then “Text file”. |
1. Selection of the text file
First you have to select the text file that contains the data.
You can write the name of the file (with the path) in the field “File to import” or browse for the file by pressing the “…” button.
2. Verifies the content of the file
Then check if the data is correctly displayed. If it isn’t the case, you can modify the base or the secondary separator.
3. Makes the mapping between the properties and the data of the file
This is the most important part of the text importation. You have to make a mapping between the properties that define an alarm in Alert and the data stored in the text file.
To do that, you have to select in the property list, the property on which you want to make the mapping and then click on the column where the data for this properties is stored.
After that you have to click the button “Apply”.
Sample:
Select the property “Identifier” and then click on the column “C1” (if the identifier of your alarms is stored in the column C1)
It is also possible to just write a value without clicking on a column
For some properties (Link type, type, condition etc…), it is possible to select a value from a list.
4. Importation of the data
When you have finished the mapping, select the lines that you want to import and then click on the button “Import”. The importation of the data will be processed and the selected lines will be removed in the display (not in the file). You can then change the mapping and make a new import.
You can also select all the lines and import them with one click.
5. Display and management of the options
You can click on the button “Options” to display and modify the options of the importation.
This window will appear:
Create the tag if it doesn’t exist, update it otherwise |
When this option is selected, if you import a tag with a reference that exists in Alert, the existing tag will be updated. Otherwise a new tag with this reference will be created in Alert. |
Always create the tag, even if its reference already exists |
When this option is selected, if you import a tag with a reference that exists in Alert, a new tag with the same reference will be created in Alert. The existing tag will not be updated. |
Create the tag if it doesn’t exist, don’t update existing tags |
When this option is selected, if you import a tag with a reference that exists in Alert, the existing tag will not be updated. Non-existing tag with this reference will be created in Alert. |
Create the on-call group if it doesn’t exist |
When this option is checked, during the importation, if the on-call group does not exist it will automatically be created in Alert. |
Separator to define more than one on-call group |
This separator allows you to import more than one on-call group for an alarm. In the property “On-call Group”, if the data contains this separator character then Alert will automatically associate several on-call groups to the alarm. |
