Yes, Alert software can be installed on virtual machines. But beware, this type of architecture imposes restrictions on communications equipment.
In a virtual machine environment, the physical USB and RS-232 ports can be assigned to specific virtual machines. If you can not do this operation, the use of equipment assigned to Alert software will have to be done through an IP network. You must then use a USB/IP or RS-232/IP converter.
For the sending of vocal alarms, we recommend using VoIP. This allows users to make vocal alarm over the IP network. If the infrastructure is not compatible with VoIP, a modem is necessary. RS-232/IP or USB/IP converter can be used to access your modem through your IP network.
